Intruders

The experience of looking at a work of art is often altered by external factors that are not part of it. Shadows, flies or other intrusions can help determine your reading of the art. By drawing all these elements, Bernat Daviu invites you to document the subtle and unexpected presences that accompany the works exhibited at the Fundació Antoni Tàpies.

Bernat Daviu (Fonteta, 1985) studied Fine Arts at Central Saint Martins, London. His most recent exhibitions include the solo show Sala d’espera (Bombon projects, Barcelona, 2021) and the group exhibitions Ara mateix: tot està per fer i tot és possible (co-curated by Rosa Lleó and Chus Martinez for Arts Santa Mònica, Barcelona, 2020–21) and La pintura. Un repte permanent (curated by Nimfa Bisbe for CaixaForum Barcelona, Barcelona, 2019).

His projects and works have also been presented at CaixaForum Madrid (Madrid, 2020), Cuchifritos Gallery + Project Space (New York, 2018), Fundació Arranz-Bravo (L’Hospitalet, 2017), Fundació Joan Miró (Barcelona, 2016), L’Estruch (Sabadell, 2015), Galeria Balaguer (Barcelona, 2015), Uma Certa Falta de Coerência (Porto, 2014), Guest Projects (London, 2012), Walker Art Gallery (Liverpool, 2012) and the Jafre Biennial (Jafre, 2009), among others.
