Los carteles de Tàpies y la esfera pública
The publication Los carteles de Tàpies y la esfera pública offers a catalogue raisonné of the 245 posters made by Antoni Tàpies from the fifties to the present, as well as a large selection of illustrations that show the artist’s civic engagement, especially his perseverance in the defence of specific ethical and political issues, and the contemporaneity of his aesthetic vision. The prologue, by Pilar Parcerisas, follows Tàpies’ work as a poster artist, within the history of poster art, and combines the interpretation of some of the works with an analysis of the artistic, social and political history of an era that starts with the explosion of the avant-garde and continues through the troubled times of the last decades.
