International writer and artist, working across art forms, media and languages. Projects alternate between books, audio pieces, performances and language installations. Caroline Bergvall’s work champions notions of language and performativity; bilingualism and textual speech; new literacies; language politics and citizenry, audiovisual inscription. Her latest book, Meddle English: New and Selected Texts (Nightboat Books, 2011), is currently being translated into French. Latest solo commission: Middling English (John Hansard Gallery).
