body word object x Tàpies is a pedagogical and experimental research project that aims to explore approaches to the universe of Antoni Tàpies through dialogue.

Dialogues between contemporary creators and Antoni Tàpies: we have invited Isabel Banal (visual artist and sculptor), Antoni Clapés (poet) and Àngels Margarit (dancer and choreographer) to dialogue with Tàpies’ ideas, creative processes, writings, works and documents.

Dialogues between the multiple expressions and artistic manifestations of these three creators: movement, poetry and the visual arts.

Dialogues between children and teenagers and Antoni Tàpies: we will look carefully at his artworks, reflect on some of his writings, let them question us, find inspiration in his creative processes and initiate some of our own. Students from three state schools in Barcelona, of different ages and contexts, will participate in the project: two groups from the 6th year at Escola Drassanes, three groups from the 1st year of ESO at the Institut Escola Artístic Oriol Martorell and a group from the 4th year of ESO at the Institut Moisès Broggi. Teachers will also actively participate in the project.

And numerous dialogues between all the project’s agents: students, teachers, artists, the Fundació Antoni Tàpies staff and the A Bao A Qu team.

The project will be developed in three phases:

1. Work with texts, materials, written and audiovisual documents by Antoni Tàpies that are of especial interest for the development of the project. The research process will be accompanied by shared reflections, which will be voiced in the various meetings between the agents taking part in the project.

2. Shared experiences between creators – students – teachers – staff from the Fundació Antoni Tàpies and the A Bao A Qu Association. Various actions will be carried out:

– Sessions in the galleries of the Fundació.
– Sessions with the creators in the schools. Collective creation and experimentation processes are proposed.
– Continuity on the part of teachers and students regarding the proposals and reflections that derive from these processes.

3. Analysis of the end result and preparation of proposals and materials to be used by all interested teachers and educators as a starting point for approaching the work of Antoni Tàpies.
