Ferran Rodés, new Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fundació Antoni Tàpies

The Board of Trustees of the Fundació Antoni Tàpies held an extraordinary meeting on Monday, 21 February 2022, to elect a new Chairman, following the resignation of the outgoing Chairman, Xavier Antich, after a decade at the helm of the institution. The Board of Trustees unanimously approved the appointment of Ferran Rodés as the new Chairman and celebrates that a person of his professional standing and commitment to the world of culture has agreed to be at the helm of the Board during this new era.

The Fundació wishes to convey its gratitude to Xavier Antich for the dedication, relevance and excellence of his contribution, over a period when the institution was strengthening its founding momentum, not only in terms of the museum and its exhibitions, as one of the leading institutions in Spain, but also in the field of preservation, study and dissemination of the ideas and work of Antoni Tàpies, at a time when the Fundació is preparing to celebrate the impending centenary of Antoni Tàpies’ birth in 2023.

 Ferran Rodés i Vilà (Barcelona, ​​1 August 1960) is a Catalan businessman specialising in areas such as communication and sustainability. He is the Vice Chairman of ISPD; founder and Chairman of the newspaper Ara and former Chairman of the Advisory Board for Sustainable Development of the Catalan Government (CADS). He lives in Barcelona, ​​has five children and is married to Maria Macaya.
