The Conservation of Antoni Tàpies’ Works in Exhibition Galleries
This talk describes the measures taken at the Fundació Antoni Tàpies to preserve and maintain the exhibited artworks. The initial part of the lecture will focus on the steps taken prior to the exhibition: packaging, transport, handling and the role of the courier. The following theme will concern the control of environmental conditions: temperature, humidity and light. Specific cases involving different types of work will also be reviewed and discussed (materials, work on canvas and paper formats).
